Live Leaderboard Columns Rebalance

    The 3rd column was getting pretty big after the 1.2 update, so we've re-balanced the 3 columns

    Before
    1-500, 501-1000, 1001-3000

    After
    1-750, 751-1500, 1501-4000

    This should make the 3rd column more exclusive and balance the first 2 to be more even.

    This makes sense. :) I saw how crowded the 1200+, 1300+, 1400+ and especially 1500+ sections were getting.

    nice, but it will just keep being a ongoing problem as time rolls on as people keep getting higher and higher level. should add in some sort of reset people can choose after the pass wave 3500 or something, having them start over from scratch. Give people a incentive to choose this but not necessarily a ingame benefit but maybe something like a shiny badge, an achievement or maybe a color highlight around their name on the leaderboard or something

    A super prestige, we've thought about something like this called a 'Big Bang' that restarts the entire universe, but with some kind of change. Not sure what that change would be though? The shiny badge sounds like one good aspect though.

    Sounds exciting as I'm closer and closer to the cap.
    To be able to unlock it, one must have 100% achivements (meaning beating wave4000 no idea how).

    And it really gotta be something really cool. You obviously don't have time to produce whole new content for that 1% of players who would go there, so SWAG badge + 1 more achievement + some fun and silly mechanic change, maybe.

    Something like different universe rules after each warp comes to my mind. It's easy to implement:
    -all cubes have x10 hp
    -all money drops are x10
    -3 times more rockets this run (seriously, why click pistol multishot goes up to 10, but rocket is just to 5?)
    -rainbow balls drop weapon cubes
    -etc a hundred or few of different deadly-hard or super-easy modifiers. Would take about a day to fully implement, maybe.

    And map editor for maps. Finally let your users submit handmade maps, not sure if I'll be able to bear that fish map any longer (sword map is fine) :)

    The different universe rules would be nice. Sort of like a new game plus.
    Having the ability to choose the ruleset would add a lot more complications for the devs, but it could be worth it to add a bit of replayability to the game.

    Suggestion: have 2 extra modes, that you can access when get to cap - super easy and super hard.

    Super easy has the extra rockets and money drops, and weapon cubes enhancement dimps suggested, along with others and a nice easy curve. The aim is to see how fast you can get to the cap.

    Super hard is full of things to slow you down and make it harder to progress without really knowing what to upgrade and when to make the best progress. It could for example have a limit on number of manual clicks to make autoclicking less useful, and tweak the team upgrade path so that just blindly clicking or autoupgrading would not be as productive as planning what to upgrade. The aim is to use strategy and planning to progress

    Separate leaderboards would be needed, and some safeguards to prevent cheating might be worthwhile looking into, though I know that the only real way is having a lot of the game running on a game server, something that is not really cost productive.

    Having to reset the whole game to get 100% of the features is always a flawed design in my opinion. It makes the first playthrough completely irrelevant and useless when you are done, uninteresting because we cannot experience the full game on it. It's nothing to enjoy, it's a prerequirement to finally play the full game.
    Did you ever wish to skip an annoying tutorial in a game? "Am I still not done with it? -.- Screw it!"
    In Tap Tap Infinity you need to sacrifice your XP and Ranks to get a higher Ascension, but you keep all your other things so you can still progress like before. It's a partial reset of a sub-part, it's still in the process of progressing and not a complete restart of everything.

    If it's only something cosmetic like a shiny star on the leaderboard and in the profile, golden guns ingame or a my little pony background for the arenas, I don't give a ❤❤❤❤ :D
    ...well my little pony would be worth it for me...


    You get 5 rockets and can lower the required clicks per shot to 5. Seems pretty even to me overall.

    10 bullets cover huge area.
    5 rockets cover same area as 2 or 3 rockets.

    For me it's not only about DPS, it's also about cleaning stages fast.
    Speaking of "fast" would love to buy :weaponcube: upgrade "make your rockets fly x times faster".

    hey im having trouble on finding myself on the live leaderboard for time clickers, i changed my avatar to the incomplete triangle and my user name i registered is frank41712. im confussed on finding myself on the leader board im at wave 235.

    In the interest of this discussion that I totally missed, could I suggest keeping it simple? I kind of like the idea of this "new game+" mode to be more about bragging rights. Like the badge in the first place. So maybe just multiplying enemy health by 10, and multiplying the cost of most/all things by 10 as well would do the trick.

    Especially if:

    1. You wanted to allow for a New Game++(+?). They might not be balanced, but they would exist (modes that instead multiplied the costs/health by 100 or 1000, god help them). Though IMO, the worst offender balance ways would be the Starting Gold upgrade. And that's only if you multiply the cost of party upgrades.
    2. You wanted to allow the New Game+ to run as like... a separate game file. So while you were playing New Game+ your original file would run like it was in offline mode: You could gain gold, but not advance in waves. And you could sort of "Dimension Shift" between the two. Perhaps you could make it so that wouldn't be the case for New Game+ though. If you decided to go back to your original game, New Game+ wouldn't make any progress at all while the file wasn't the active one.

    It'd be more for bragging rights than anything. Making it "easymode" would defeat the purpose since it'd just mean people would be climbing the leaderboard faster. You could always add a few easter eggs at some point, but as it was said earlier, if you add MORE features for the new game plus mode, it'll make the regular game feel like a tutorial that never ends. I'd LIKE to think there's a more interesting way to do a Big Bang mode, but I would think you'd always run into that issue.

    EDIT: To avoid double posting, there's another problem with this idea, and it's the fact that if you change the game later, it might change the wave at which the Super Prestige would ideally happen. Like, right now I'd imagine it would unlock at wave 4k since that's the highest tier on the leaderboard. But it should totally be able to change. You don't want to keep yourself from being able to change the base game freely just because a mode exists purely for bragging rights.

    In my mind, the solution is simple: when people are playing in New Game+ mode, they'll show up on the leaderboards just the same. Maybe New Game+ players will be highlighted somehow, to set them apart from players who are still playing the first run of the game.

    Now let's say after an update, the wave at which the Super Prestige is unlocked changes to 5k instead of 4k. People who already unlocked New Game+ will still have their save. Making them start all over for the sake of an update seems unfair, but letting them keep going without any downside also seems unfair to those who didn't unlock it when it was at 4k.

    Instead of making people go back to unlock New Game+ mode, just... allow them to keep playing however they want, but give them an in-game notification that until their original save makes it to 5k to properly unlock New Game+ in the current version, their icon won't show up on the leaderboards while playing New Game+. For the people playing New Game+ for bragging rights, this should be ample reason for them to go back and unlock New Game+ again to earn their proper place on the leaderboard. For the people who are playing New Game+ for any other reason, they aren't barred from continuing their run just the same.
